Over the past 3 decades as a Commercial Real Estate Broker, Developer, Owner and Investor, Mike has gained acumen in various commercial real estate skill-sets. His epiphany regarding ownership came in 2019 when he was charged by the City of Brooklyn Center MN to develop a site that serves the City's citizens, who have the highest percentage of immigrants of any city in Minnesota. During that discovery period, an accomplished food importer originally from Liberia said, "We don't want a nice building to rent. We want to own real estate." It was through that common sense advice that Mike saw his 30 years of experience could be used to provide real estate ownership for tenants through creative use of various incentives, creating profit sharing, coops, and collaborative joint ownership by the tenants. All this through paying rent on time.
His range of expertise includes: joint ventures, brokerage, land development, adaptive reuse and residential community development, historic redevelopment, city presentations and approvals, financing, equity raising, tax increment financing, management of a 2.5 million s.f. family real estate portfolio, tenant and landlord rep, tenant satisfaction, property tax valuation challenges, extensive due diligence process management, lease examination, all sides of deal negotiation, foreign land investment, deal structuring, consulting, and mentoring commercial real estate up and comers.
Mike is grateful for much in life, especially his wife of 36 years, 3 daughters and son in laws, 9 grandchildren and soon to be born great granddaughter.
None of this would be, except for the transforming Love of God Mike experienced 39 years ago and continues to walk in today.
